HOW WE CAN HELP

The Sperring Charity was set up to benefit the local communities of Midsomer Norton and surrounding areas by offering financial support to those in need.  The Charity's objects are such or any charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitants of the parishes situate in whole or in part within a five mile radius of the Church of St John the Baptist, Midsomer Norton, near Bath in the County of Avon (the Trust Parishes) as the Trustees think fit.

To make an application for a grant, just fill out an application form telling us how much money you’d like and what you want it for. The Board of Trustees meet on a quarterly basis to review all applications and decide which grants to make. Only one grant can be made to each applicant each year.

Since the charity was founded in 1990, we’ve supported hundreds of people in the local community with financial grants ranging from £50 to £5,000. We’ve paid for sports kits and school stages; we’ve contributed towards new church roofs and school libraries; and we’ve supported community groups and Duke of Edinburgh participants - so if you need a helping hand, please let us know.
